Lattice::Sydney from Proboscis on Vimeo.

UK based artists Proboscis are visiting Sydney in February and March to work with Information and Cultural Exchange on producing their new work Lattice: Collaborative Anarchaeologies of the City, hosting a collaborative workshop and exchange labs with Western Sydney artists. Proboscis’ artists Alice Angus and Orlagh Woods will be exploring the ways culturally diverse communities engage with their environment and consider what “environmental sustainability” could mean. What happens when people come to a city? What knowledge is lost, or created? What are the impacts of migration and emerging new identities on cities? Proboscis and ICE will work together with the participants to develop new methods of sharing knowledge and creativity, imagining the city through the eyes of those who live in it. Lattice is part of the British Council’s Creative Cities project - a three year cultural and artistic partnership between East Asia and the UK.

As Orlagh and Alice’s residency progresses through the streets of Western Sydney, they will be dispatching a regular email sketchbook of the wanderings, stories, and images that are part of Lattice. You can see them here or sign up to receive them in an email.
